Boating is fun, let us show you how!

HHSPS-Burgee

Welcome to the Hilton Head Sail and Power Squadron Website!

USPS-LogoWe are a unit of the United States Power Squadrons®, which is the world's largest non-profit boating organization. It is often called "America's boating club".

Our members are families who contribute to their communities by promoting safe boating, on the water and in the classroom. Our squadron is located on Hilton Head Island, which is at the South-Eastern corner of South Carolina, at 32º10'33.88" N, 80º46'22.88" W. Many of our members live on Hilton Head, while some reside just over the bridge in Bluffton, SC.

The Hilton Head Sail & Power Squadron promotes safe boating through basic and advanced boating education. Our squadron also offers a wide range of boating activities, with both on-the-water and shore-side events. We complement our on-the-water activities with an exciting social calendar for our members. We're also active in community service for boaters, with programs such as our Vessel Safety Checks.

Enjoy friendship and camaraderie on-the-water and off, with fellow members of The Hilton Head Sail & Power Squadron who are skilled in boating.

Boating Education

Hilton Head Sail & Power Squadron offers boating safety courses to the public several times a year, in the spring and fall. We're recently extended our educational program with a series of boating seminars. Also, members of our squadron enjoy more than 30 classroom and self-study courses in marine subjects ranging from Seamanship and Piloting to GPS and Celestial navigation.

Social Events

Hilton Head Sail & Power Squadron has a monthly dinner, with guest speakers on a wide range of boating topics. Once a year, usually in June, we have a Merit Marks picnic, which recognizes the contributions of our members. We close out the year with a holiday party.

Boating Activities

Cruises and rendezvous events highlight on-the-water activities and complement shore side events like dinner parties and educational programs. Enjoy friendship and camaraderie on-the-water and off, with fellow members who are skilled and knowledgeable in boating.

Community Service

We offer a vessel safety check program for boaters in our area. Through our cooperative charting programs, our members help the National Ocean Service keep nautical charts up-to-date.

Membership Information

Becoming a member of the Hilton Head Sail & Power Squadron is easy. It requires passing a boating safety course taught by the squadron and being sponsored by a member of the squadron. For more information, please contact us.
