Thank you for visiting our website and I hope that you consider joining our successful and growing organization.  The mission of the Hilton Head Sail & Power Squadron is “to provide safe boating education, operation and fellowship to recreational boaters on the waters of Hilton Head Island and beyond “.

It is an honor for me to serve as the organization's Commander which is one of over 450 active Squadrons of the United States Power Squadrons.  The National Organization has just completed its 101st anniversary and the Hilton Head Sail & Power Squadron is starting our 28th year of service to the Low County of South Carolina.

Our organization is growing fast with over 200 members who, like you, enjoy boating and connecting with boaters, and educational programs that help us all successfully navigate the waters in and around Hilton Head Island.

All of our members enjoy robust and varied boating activities and boating education curriculum supported by on-the-water activities.  Our schedule includes social and educational boating cruises during the boating season where you can learn the local waters and improve your boating skills.  You can use your boat or serve as “crew” on someone else’s boat on these boating events.  You can find a schedule of all of our activities by going to the calendar located on this site.

Our boating education programs are taught by qualified and certified instructors with course materials certified by The U.S. Coast Guard.  We offer a wide variety of education programs from Piloting to Inland and Coastal Navigator levels.  Additionally, we offer a wide variety of short seminars that will help you to understand many aspects of boating from tides and currents to how to read a chart.

We also have monthly dinner meetings which usually includes a guest speaker covering an interesting topic of interest to our members.  Our members are friendly and always willing to share their local knowledge of our waters and boat handling.  Our organization is a great place to meet new friends that share your interest in boating.

It is also an organization where you can get involved in the leadership and functioning of the Squadron as we have over 15 committee’s performing various functions that allows our “all volunteer” organization to function.  Regardless of your professional background or interests we have a committee where your skills are needed.

I am privileged to serve as your Commander, and ask that you contact me if I can assist you in any way to join the Squadron or to make your Squadron experience rewarding and most of all enjoyable.

Thank you,
